I am trying to decide whether to convert my Amex points to Velocity points prior to 31/5 in order to get the 50% bonus. I currently have about 250k Amex points & at some time in the next couple of years wold like to take the family from ADL to Europe on points. Any views on whether to convert them or leave them with Amex?

Hi George D, and welcome to AFF!

The Velocity 50% bonus offer has already been discussed here: http://www.frequentflyer.com.au/community/your-questions/velocity-50-bonus-offer-13033.html

Velocity has some pretty good connections to Europe (through Virgin Atlantic, Malaysia Air, etc.) so it's worth considering.

However it's good to compare it with other programs. For example:

Velocity to London on Virgin Atlantic: 128,000 points

Virgin Atlantic Flying Club (with 1:1 AMEX redemption) to London on Virgin Atlantic: 108,000 points.

Always good to do a bit of research.
