Connection times at JFK

Next July my son and I are flying home to Australia from JFK on Qantas at 6:55pm Terminal 7. I am flying in from Toronto that day. Would I be able to make that flight if I arrived on Air Canada at 4:45pm Terminal7?

The connection just meets MCT (Minimum Connection Time) so it could be made on the one booking.

I would expect you would do USA immigration processing before leaving Toronto so that can help.

Personally it would not be enough time for me - an on time QF108 would start boarding just after 6pm.

Thanks for the reply. I thought it might be a bit tight. Looks like it's an earlier flight to La Guardia and shuttle to JFK.

Random dates in July show an AA (American Eagle ERD) flight from YYZ arriving into JFK at 3.20pm (and others, earlier). Is that an option for you?

We are actually flying from London YXU to YYZ then on to JFK. Air Canada is the only airline which goes from YXU to JFK. If I can get a lift to Toronto instead of flying then the AA flight would definitely be an option. Thanks for your help.
