Hello,

I have a query I was wondering if someone could offer some advice on.

My family and I will be flying from Singapore to Adelaide this December via Melbourne. We got a promotional fare, which gives us a connection time of 90 minutes in Melbourne.

I thought this would be OK, but one of my partner's colleagues who travelled via Melbourne Airport recently balked and said he reckoned we would miss our second flight.

I was wondering if anyone had any opinions on whether this might be the case, or if they have any tips to share on how to avoid this? I am not feeling too worried as I am sure Qantas would arrange another flight if we missed the second one - they did, after all, match the flights on the itinerary.

Would really appreciate any input.

Thanks,
Danie

Welcome to AFF. :D

MEL indeed gets very busy in the mornings these days and it can take an hour or more to get though Immigration and Customs. Then you need to head left, up the 'travelator' and along to domestic check-in bag/redrop before going through airside in T1.

I presume you are arriving into MEL in the morning on QF36.

If so, the good news that since you are booked on the one ticket, you would be protected one of the several later flights to ADL should you miss the one booked.
