I am wondering if anyone has tried to through check on different PNRs from US to QF? I know you can, and I have done this with AA to QF.

I have YUL-PHL-DFW with US on one PNR and the DFW-SYD with QF on a different PNR.

Cheers.

AS US airways is now part of OneWorld, the answer is Yes and Vica versa.

The other issue is luggage allowances and fees. This I dont know.

Generally as QF is the longest most significant sector the luggage allowance would be based on QF allowances but airlines have their own specific rules about this.
You may still be stuck with US airways luggage allowance though

Thanks Quickstatus,

I understand that it is part of the deal with one world.

My question is given that US is very new to the alliance and their systems may not be up to the task yet.

Has anyone actually tried this yet and does it work?

I can definitely vouch for the QF to US scenario so even on separate pnrs you would receive the QF baggage allowamce 2 x 23kg to the final destination as well as get your US boarding passes.

I have no reason to believe US Air would not reciprocate in the reverse direction & would challenge them if they didn't.
