I am flying LHR-ICN in a month or so with Asiana but need a connection to LHR from CDG (separate ticket)

The LHR-ICN departs at 21:00 from T1

I booked a BA flight a while back which arrives into T5 at 6:15 thinking that would be plenty of time based on my previous (relatively smooth) transit at Heathrow.

I'm now thinking this was pretty stupid.

Will I need to clear immigration to collect and re-check luggage?

Is this moronic and should I switch flights? Ticket is non-refundable but if this connection time is unrealistic I'll just have to swallow it.
