Fares to LOTFAP (USA) (mistake or otherwise) are subject to DOT guidelines, and up until a change of heart by the DOT and some other mistake fares, were pretty much assured of having to be honoured. That's up in the air now.Hope QFF honours this just like the mistake fare to LAX last year. At least they could share some of their latest profit windfall with their loyal flyers so if they have to call, hope they are selective on who they actually call (hope it's the person who posted on Ozbargain).:-|
My first ever mistake fare, normally I would have missed this due to work but as it turns out, lying in bed recovering from surgery does have its side benefits!
AU has very different laws about mistake pricing (be it cash or award points).

For 24k more points and $200 more my J return is very nice, but that would have been excellent value too!
Maybe only members who sign up who are perhaps showing some loyalty to AFF should see certain threads.
That's a contentious issue.
AFF is open to all, but more importantly, even a private forum will have leaks

I was not interested in the route, so I don't have any dog in this fight, but... while we can debate whether things like this should be kept under wrap or published here, publishing it on Facebook and OzBargain is on a whole different level. I mean, OzBargain? Really??!! Some people do anything for their 2-seconds of fame....

Wouldn't you know it, I find out about a potential reason to visit Japan about 3 hours after this is fixed.
As for telling people stuff, I've kept my kinda good* secret close to my chest. There are regular questions asked on here that indicate others haven't cottoned on to it.

If no one would publish it here or on Facebook I would have never heard about it (checked my inbox, no PM from anyone about this).
These kind of deals is what makes AFF interesting for me. HFC is closed group so no harm to publish there. I do agree about OzBargain, it was unnecessary to put it there.
People from my own private group have criticised me for spelling it out here. So it's all relative.
I personally am just glad some people got to book it. Especially to a place like Japan.
If one wants to keep something secret, then going out of one's way to allude to its existence is kinda childish.

In any case, I didn't allude to anything. I outright stated there is something. I have also dropped hints about my secret in relevant threads and people have actually understood enough to ask me via PM. I'm sorry if you haven't noticed.

It was a one and only post on Ozbargain - brand new signed up just to post it. Their handle is cbrflyer - i googled the handle - there's a ramp agent at canberra airport with that name, not sure if it's the same person.
Characterize it however you like. I'm not sure if you're talking about the cheaper-than-classic P+P thing or something else. Your "clue" gives basically nothing away. Which is why I hate the idea of this coding nonsense.
