Previously you could book QF First LHR-SYD on points and get access to the Concorde Room.

But now that the Concorde Room has moved from T4 to T5, and all LHR-SYD/LHR-MEL flights have moved to T3.

What is the cheapest/easiest BA F flight I could take out of T5 to gain access to the Concorde Room? Could I book these flights with QFF points?

Thanks

Have done the Concorde room when flying BA F to NY - not on points at that time - but same principal.

I booked BA F from LHR to YYZ a few months ago using QFF points. Was literally 2 days in advance as well :)

A few ways that don't involve flying F:

- Enter as a guest of a Chairman's Lounge Qantas FF.
- Enter as a guest of a BA "Concorde Lounge Card" holder. (Some people were given these cards because they flew Concorde a lot, others earn it by flying a huge number of BA flights/year)
- Enter as a guest of a BA "Premier" member. (BA equivalent of QF's CL)

Some that do:

Arrive on BA F into LHR, and connect to a EU/UK BA Flight.
Fly BA F from LHR T5 to another destination... trying to think of the shortest route.

Hmmm ... LHR-CAI comes to mind. Prob about a 4h30m flight.

I'm trying to think of an intra-Europe segment with F but none spring immediately to mind.

Thx Mal. I don't know any famous CL members or BA Premier members/Concorde Lounge members.

But I might be able to fit in to the first suggestion above in that I am flying Qantas F into LHR. Do they just give access to BA F into LHR who transfer to a UK/EU flight or could I transfer with QF F to a UK/EU flight and still get access?

Thx

My wife and I offen fly on a Qantas flight (not code share) in F to LHR T3 and transfer to a BA flight in T5 and always use the Concorde room without a problem. You just show your inbound first class boarding pass, if I remember rightly I dont even think they asked for a onward boarding pass.

BTW in May when when BA was on strike our connecting flight was cancelled we used (located in the lounge) a type of small hotel room with a shower, toilet, TV and couch with free use of the telephone to any where in the world! Pretty good!

Kind regards, Traveller F

I believe you have to be flying BA F to have access to the CCR.

I may be wrong but that has been my experience.

They would be the "Cabanas" or "Day Rooms" - I believe there are three of them.

Thanks Traveller F and dfcatch.

Can someone please clarify if its ok to fly on a Qantas F flight + transfer to UK/EU flight or does it have to be BA F.

My understanding is there is a JSA which should allow it. But not sure how it relates to the Concorde Room under the above circumstance.

No, its does not have to be a BA F. Qantas F is OK but you must show your inbound boarding pass to show that you have flown in F. They will only allow pax into the Concorde Lounge that have or will be flying on a first class ticket (except if your connecting flight has only J and Y class).

Remember if your connecting flight is NOT BA you will fly from another terminal. T5 is strickly BA only.

Kind regards, Traveller F

Serfty, you are correct there are three of them, you can book them for a max of 6 hours. We kept ours for longer as there was no other pax wanting to use them.

Thanks Traveller F - I have no desire to book a flight to the USA from LHR, so will just book a flight to Europe (prob Italy or France) & use the CCR.

Cheers

I've heard that BA only allow ex-BA F flight passengers to use the Concorde Room. This isn't the same as your experience, so there might be further exemptions for "Kangaroo route" flights (ie Australia-London on QF/BA).

It would be nice if the rules were written officially somewhere... But that would prevent half the "fun" of trying to get access!

Also, there are a few BA flights ex-T3 (HEL is one of them), so it's important to avoid these for the connecting flight.

There must be either an inconsistency in access or there are rules but they aren't followed well.

I flew QF1 BKK to LHR in F last November. Arrived at T3, transferred to T5 then tried to access the T5 CCR before my last BA CE leg LHR-FRA. Access denied - was told only BA F pax were allowed.

One of the ladies at the GF desk tried to consult her "manual" to find out the rules, to no avail. The man who was guarding the CCR, however, was adamant that I was not allowed to access the CCR because my incoming flight was QF, not BA.

I think (can't remember where I read this) if you are flying on a QF marketed flight (i.e. QF number on your ticket) but the metal is BA and you are flying in F then this is also OK for CCR access.

The T3 lounge may have different access rules to the T5 lounge, but I am completely unsure.

Hi All,

Just thought I would mention that I arrived into LHR after arriving in F with QF (T3 then transferred to T5) and I'm a WP member and the lady at the entrance of the Concord room could not work out if I should gain access. She seemed to think that just flying in F was not enough and that under the QF FF scheme you needed to be a Chairmans Lounge member.

After insisting this was not the case and being tired and grumpy I told them to forget it and I would go to the normal F lounge and contact QF about this poor service. She immediately granted me access to the concord lounge where I stayed for around an hour.

For those who are interested...In my opinion its not much different to the F lounge just quieter and better service etc.

Cheers
