Computer glitch downs JAL flights, again | Travel News | News.com.au
ASIA'S largest carrier, Japan Airlines (JAL), cancelled one domestic flight while 18 more were delayed yesterday due to a computer glitch.
Nearly 5,000 people were affected after JAL reported problems with its check-in system Sunday afternoon, preventing passengers from going through departure gates smoothly at domestic airports, mostly at Tokyo's Haneda airport, a company spokesman said

I would have thought SQ would be Asia's largest airline?
I would have thought so too,Flash.
But remember this is News.com.au that I found it in. (Also I would ask what they mean by "biggest" are they talking passengers carried or sharemarket capitalisation?)

Amongst other things, JAL has a sizeable domestic operation, and has close on twice the number of aircraft that SQ has

According to JL website, they have 279 aircraft in their fleet (pax and freight A/C), including 165 widebodies. SQ have 107 passenger aircraft plus 12 freighters and 16 in Silk Air.

CA also has a big operation, but not as big as JL (their aircraft total around 170 I think).

But bigger still, according to their website is China Southern....

Currently, China Southern Airlines operated 342 modern Boeing 777, 747, 757, 737 and Airbus A330, 321, 320, 319 and 300 jet aircraft

Glad that isn't the case. :)
