I haven't been in gold for a couple of years now so I'd have to get there first but I should aim for that, shouldn't I. I never thought of a status run for me only for my hubby who is about to reach platinum but that is a good point you make. I've only received 1 EDR points offer which was this week, for Mambo. . I bought some beach towels a month ago so that seems to be where that came from, as I'm definitely not a surfie chick. . But my work CC is attached to Qantas AND from that thread here I know I can use that to pay the next BAS statement.

I like your style, why not go for broke. There are plenty here who will have advice and (inexpensive?) ideas on how to go plat even!
Mrs GPH has been listening to them and is really into it. She will go plat this year .

You know, I normally try to ignore these types of comments. But frankly that is the biggest load of rubbish I've ever read. Caring and worrying about things beyond your control does not make you feel better. It gives you an ulcer, it's bad for your heart and it leads you to an early grave.

I'd hate to see that happen as I'd have no posts to try to ignore.

And you do not know what I am saying. Not point telling someone not to worry as it does not affect them but they are going to worry as it is going to affect them. Different people, different thought patterns.

Looks like I have been gifted gold for another year, my review date is now 28 Feb 2014. Not sure why (not complaining though) as I have only earned 240 points this year. Last year I was also gifted gold, but that was part of my soft fall from 6 years of platinum. Maybe it something to do with having 13498 lifetime status credits along with flights booked in March (with MH) and April that will get me over the 14,000 mark where I will become lifetime gold.

I, too, was gifted gold last month apparently 'just because'. I'm certainly not a frequent traveller (normally Bronze, with only half a dozen flights last year) but I'm also certainly not going to complain. Better half is Platinum, about to go Platinum One. I wonder if that has anything to do with it...?

No, definitely still the same anniv date I usually have and better half hasn't been contacted by QF. Not sure...?

When my better half comped me Gold my date stayed the same as always.

When I achieved PG level, SWMBO's date moved from a July expiry to match my October one.

When I didn't re-earn PG her date has stayed at October.
