Complimentary credit card travel insurances - Any adequate ones?

I currently hold ANZ Qantas black card with complimentary TI. I have looked up the PDS with a benefit limit of AUD5000. I have a trip to NZ coming up with a rental vehicle from Hertz of an excess NZD5900. While I've booked the car rental via booking.com which offered me excess reduction from RENTALCOVER if anyone heard of it. Any thought if i should take this up from RENTALCOVER or the complimentary TI from ANZ card is suffice?

You'll be covered for the first $5000 of the $5900 with your credit card policy which means that you'll have to pay the other $900. Should be easy to compare that with what you'll pay in premium and excess for the separate policy.

With this TI it doesnt cover damages to tyres, windscreen etc which seems odd whereas the RENTALCOVER covers all of these. I thought the tyres and windscreens are the more commonly damage so comes with higher risk if excluded. RENTALCOVER’s premium $180 for the 100k benefit and covers all of these so yeah, makes the comparison harder

Rentalcover sounds like a reasonable deal. Amex Explorer doesn't exclude much and will cover repairs if you don't purchase waiver cover. It limits cover to cars (only, pretty much - eg not campers/motorhomes) less than $100k, 31 days hire or less, plus some other relatively obscure events (eg racing)
