I am sure that this question has come up before but I have been unable to locate a previous thread...

I was reading a thread a couple of days ago about being comped/status renewed without having the SC's.

The situation is as follows: Me and my wife get around 1100SC's a year (but not always flying toghether) which means we have been gold for the last 4 years. However my wife had an accident this year which means she will not reach the 600SC's to requalify.

Does anybody know how this comped works?

Thanks,

Mille

It's a black box mystery but about two months before expiry you may find your status extended for another year (or comped).
Alternatively you might get a bonus 50 SCs to help requal, or may get a please tell us why we should renew you (requires you to provide travel plans in next 12 months)

Some suggestion that it may be based on a 3-yr average so based on your history you should be ok. However YMMV
