Compassionate refunds from Air NZ?

Has anyone had any luck with the compassionate refund scheme to get their cancelled covid flights refunded by Air NZ?

Any idea on how long they take to assess?

I am trying this now. Sent an email to the [email protected] email address 2 days ago, but so far have not received any response, not even an automated acknowledgment that the request has been received.
