Thankyou for the very useful Miles.biz website but I cannot get Etihad to work nor Cathy Pacific.
Have a mix of Altitude and AMEX points to use and trying to see how many points are required by the various airlines I am able to use for a business seat from Perth to Zurich return. Most seem to be 170,000. Anyone know how to get a result for Etihad and Cathy Pacific (Asia Miles)?
Also, have been warned off Alpha Guru Seats as not being " above board" in their business practice in that they sell other peoples points. Would be very interested in your feedback. cheers Nicholas.

You can go to the respective airlines' websites and check their award charts. Easy way is to google 'Asia Miles Award Chart' and it will come up. There are probably comparison sites out there, but I'm not sure where.

Cheap ticket sellers (like at 'half price') may offer legitimate tickets in that sometimes they create an account for you and buy the miles on your behalf during one of the many promotions. But at other times it seems they may be using miles from an existing account which they have purchased or bartered. Those are the tickets you could run into trouble with.

If they are opening an account for you, easier and cheaper just to do it yourself.

Hi were were in a similar position recently with AMEX points, Virgin points, Westpac Altitude and QFF points. My outcome was to use a spreadsheet (once knowing the discount factors) that Altitude points to SQ were 50%, AMEX to SQ and CX 100% swap rate, Velocity to SQ 60% swap rate. My conclusion was we have business class SYD - SIN on SQ then SIN to IST economy class originally SQ now TK and after some internal flights we return LHR to HKG on CX / QFF redemtion Business class before we join our SQ flight home to SYD via SIN economy class. No more points!!!!
