Heya!

I was just checking out some flights to MEL-HRE.

One is a 747-438 Longreach from MEL to HKG
Then a 747-400 from HKG - HRE

I haven't done a trip to London for 8 years and I can't remember what I flew then. All the times since I have flown MEL-LAX and have had the 747-438 Longreach.

Sooo - what is the difference between the two? Will the 747-400 have On-Demand entertainment etc?

Ta muchly!

A 747-438 is a 747-400 . The 38 identifies it as a 747-400 made for Qantas. The in flight entertainment will be dependant upon the airline operating the HKG-HRE flight

As I have mentioned elsewhere, in the QF entertainment guide for October available on the QF9 flight, 12 of the 30, 747-400 have avod as of this month. QF29/QF30 thru HK only has avod on every second flight. QF9 on the 10/10 to LON had avod. So pot luck

16 (53%) of Qantas' 747-400s now have the AVOD system.

The '12' figure is incorrect and was being quoted months ago...

So, do you know the chance of QF93/94 having AVOD in Dec this year (keeping my fingers crossed)?
