Does eligibility for companion membership work on the same rolling criteria as status upgrades?
ie. earning 1300 SC at any time in the membership year triggers companion gold or does it start from scratch at the start of a new platinum membership year?

It starts from scratch:

Platinum members will be eligible for Companion Gold or Platinum membership upon earning an additional 1500 or 2000 Status Credits respectively after achieving or maintaining Platinum status.

Yep - sadly as markis10 says - I'm on over 1,600 rolling 12 months, but only 1060 this renewed plat membership year. Though if Velocity hurry up and sort out the missing SC's from 2 retro claims, by next month i'll have the 1300 required for Comp Gold.
