I am about to start commuting from Brisbane to Melbourne on a weekly basis (from July) for at least a year. I will be paying for the fares myself, and am keen to get the bets flight deals I can manage.

At this stage, I have found and booked about 12 Qantas return flights for around $120 each way in July, August and September.

Does anyone have any tips about strategies for keeping the fare rate down?

tortoise128,

Watch the sales and book well ahead is, in my opinion about as good as it gets.

Decide ahead what you will and won't accept re airlines and routes and stick to that.
