SYD-BKK in First, SIN-SYD in Club World.
1) First time going first class, QF lounge in Sydney OK, unfortunately missed the new lounge by a couple of weeks. Warmly welcomed onto the plane, escorted to our seats ( 2A, 2K). First cabin was full. Cabin seemed to be in pretty good condition, nothing worn or fraying that I could see, but obviously not brand new. Amenity kit adequate although not sure about the zipper on the BAg!! Pyjamas nicely presented tied with a ribbon, but hardly luxury material. Somehow when I think "first class", I think luxury and wonderful, the best there is, something special, but of course the reality is nothing like that. Instead of movie stars and glamour, it was more... normal people! Definitely no diamonds and furs in sight!! It was nice, no doubt about it. If I can afford it, certainly would not mind travelling like this all the time! (as if!!) The food was pleasant enough, though using plastic cutlery did not help. Our luggage did come out early.

2) Club World on 777, quite a different feel, the cabin crew while still nice enough, are much less attentive to each customer-- I guess there are a lot more customers to each attendant. Amenity packs left on our seats have been opened. The flight attendant got new packs for us, saying the packs must have been left behind by previous customers. That may be so, but I thought there would have been some kind of checking done, rather than the assumption that the packs left there would be untouched, and therefore good enough for the next customer! Anyway, it was an overnight flight, cabin close to full, slept OK, but unfortunately one memory I got from the flight was that the bread was disgusting--- I don't know why-- just seem so greasy and unpleasant. Luggage came out early.

Anyway, that's my little experience. Next trip, back to SQ economy:(

my first experience in BA club world (and only I might add) was SYD-SIN on the 777. After getting over the initial 'wow' factor (it was also my first experience in intl J) I soon noticed the dirty and torn seats, the scratched 'non' AVOD screen and funnily enough an opened amenity pack stuffed down the side of the seat!!!

What impressed me the most was the available selection of beer (take notice qantas!!!) - I sampled most however I quickly realised that a London Pride should never been drunk from a can and only hand poured from the tap in London!!!

Oh yeah, and taking off backwards was a little strange :D

I've been in what is now "old" Club World twice now, and I have to say I found it very comfortable. I think it is the flat bed more than anything which I liked, as the service is every bit as patchy as QF and depends on the crew.

As for taking off backwards - I really prefer it!

You're obviously not as tall as some of the rest of us. I actually like it and would really enjoy if the seats/beds were 6 in longer. Been fixed with Mark 2. :-|

Yes a big difference.

I have found the BA service on the 747 upper deck much better and efficient than on their 777. As pointed out more PAX per attendant. Although through SIN, the 777 is the only option.

I am 6'2" and had no prob's on BA Club World. However CX's J seats were a problem, couldn't lie straight, not enough length to the seat in front.

Same as you Reggie, but then I don't tend to stretch out when I sleep.
