Combining Classic Awards - no luck

Hello,

I am trying to book a Classic Award one way SYD-HKG and then pay for a regular fare coming back but the Qantas website will not let me me.

It says it is possible below the booking area and when I spoke to Customer Service they said it is possible and thought there must be something wrong with qantas.com.au (CS also said they cannot make this type of booking for you - only allowed through the website ???)

Has anyone else experienced this recently?

And can one of the mods please PM Red Roo if possible to see if this can be fixed - I am looking to book flights for next week!

I thought that this was supposed to be possible these days after the last round of booking engine enhancements, but I've never tried to do it myself.

I would suggest you Pm red roo, not an issue with a post count like yours and info is best first hand.

I was told recently by a QF CSA that the ability to combine classic award / paid one-way fare is only for domestic at the moment. But Red Roo would know better than I would.

Especially given the amount of "enhancements" they have made to the website and international bookings (removes tongue from cheek..)

I can confirm that combination bookings using a Classic Award and commercial fare can be created online for Domestic and International, one way or return, itineraries ex Australia.

While we're not aware of any system issues at this time, I'd be happy to arrange for a team member to contact you if necessary.

Thanks for this - change in trip plans and heading up to PVG instead - it does not appear to be possible to book a combined ticket there?

And the award seats for next week have disappeared to both HKG and PVG now anyway so it looks like I will have to look for other alternatives.

Some countries have time limits on ticketing award bookings, from memory both Singapore and China require a few days to a week.

Is the limitation "ex Australia" an online restriction only? i.e. can I book a mixed classic/cash originating overseas via the call centre?
