Hotel swipe cards, no idea why I started doing it.

Got a pretty kickarse fridge magnet collection too.

Sounds good.. I feel guilty if I don't hand them back.
I would need an industrial sized fridge if I started collecting.

Fridge magnets are easy things for me to bring back, so I will look for something quirky. Half a dozen postcards of the main sights help to overcome my lack of photographic skills. Every now and then when I head overseas I take some of the postcards with me to post back to friends. They do wonder how a Singapore postcard ends up with a Belgium stamp and post mark! Hehe.

My main suitcase is 'graffitied" with stickers of my travel destinations..
I recently found a fantastic store in HKG with original hotel & airline stickers of yesteryear.
It is a lovely benefit to locate my distinguished luggage from the generic blends on the arrival carousel. :D

From the flights themselves I keep inflight menus and wine lists, have a mountain of J and F PJ's and a gazillion amenity kits (must actually stop doing this as I never use them).
From the trips I collect fridge magnets, bookmarks and coins.

Mrs GPH collected amenity kits , and a small mountain of hotel shampoo etc.
In the Qld floods appeal she was able to put together ( I am almost ashamed to say) over 100 or so it seemed emergency kits for flood victims.
So don't think they are wasting away in your sock drawer. You too can make a difference.

Would you remember the name of the shop by any chance?

I shall be going back for a week to HKG sometime next year...

Yep we do the magnet thing.......can't find the fridge.

I used to collect book matches when they were to be found in every hotel room and lounge. I had 2 large jars full of them. I went to use one to light a candle a couple of years ago and found they had all absorbed moisture and were pretty useless...out they went

Fridge Magnets; Abit surprised, but makes logical sense :) Isn't my thing personally, but each to there own!

Either way, my (small but ever-growing) collection of inflight magazines me thinks will do nicely in Landfill.... As I try to figure out what I should be keeping as mementos from my adventures flying, besides the never ending mass of photos.

The store is called: PICTURE THIS
It is @ 212, 2nd Floor
Prince's Building, Central - HKG.
Opposite the Mandarin Oriental Hotel.

They have great books, original posters, prints & other paraphernalia.
The items are authentic & gorgeous, high quality & prices to match.

Not exactly a collection but in the 90's I had my ear pierced (my first and only) at The Reckless Woman, Venice Beach. Better than a spoon I thought. Done with a pink stud as it is my birthstone colour. I still have the stud but rarely wear an ear ring these days.

I'm another hotel key card collector - along with a gazillion pens and amenities kits. They are well received at Vinnies & Red Cross stores when I get snowed under. :)
