Hi, we have a flight Perth-Sydney domestic via QF, then a flight Sydney to Santiago via QF and then a final flight on Air Canada from Santiago to Buenos Ares. It is ticketed by QF. I can't get a definite answer on these points from airlines:
- Can I check in online and get boarding passes in advance for all 3 legs via QF? QF seem to be indicating it might not be possible for AC leg (though they are not definite). If not, will I be able to check in for AC leg when I get to Perth Airport counter? If not can I check in at Sydney counter? I just cannot get a straight answer on at which stage and how I access my AC boarding pass. Reason I ask is we only have 1.25 hrs in Santiago and I would feel a whole lot better having boarding pass before we get there - can't see how we can meet AC check in times at Santiago itself with so little time if not already sorted out.
- Will bags be checked through to BA and will this happen at Perth or not till Sydney as this first leg is domestic? QF says bags might be checked through from Perth but I am not sure how that happens with what is a domestic flight. As I indicated time will be an issue at Santiago and I am getting worried about smooth transit - hopefully bags will go through to BA and not have to be collected at Santiago.
It is really frustrating not to be able to get clear, non contradictory answers from QF - I don't appreciate being told to check with airport staff at time - surely this is a common scenario?
