When you have a codeshare flight, do you look up the amount of points and whether you will get status credits or not; by the flight number, or the airline you are actually flying?
Say you book a Discount Economy CX flight with a QF number: would you get 1 point as per QF table, or 0.5 as per the CX table?
Another combination: An Asiana Air flight with a QF Numbers: again:do you look it up by QF or would you not get points because Asiana Air isn't a partner of QF and isn't on the table?
Does it work the same way with status credits?
I'm trying to clear this up once and for all. Muchly appreciated, thanks. :)

Any flight* carrying the QF code will earn points and SC's as if it were operated by QF.

It is basically as Dave posted.

You need to look at the Airline Earning Table in the Qantas Frequent Flyer Program's Terms & Conditions for an airline by airline summary.

Be wary of the following entry in relation many to airlines:
Excluded: Points are not earned on Codeshare Flights operated by an airline other than Qantas.
What this means that if you fly, say on an Alaska Airlines flight number (i.e. beginning with the AS code) and the aircraft is not operated by AS or QF you will not earn points nor SC's.

Also, points may be earned but not any SC's if you do not see the following for a particular airline:
Status Credits are earned on all eligible booking classes.

I agree with the previous posts.

To get to the specifics of the OP - I have flown SYD-ICN six times in the past six months, all booked on the QF number even though is was OZ metal - and all amassing miles and SCs on my QF(OW) accouint and not my SQ (*A) account. Earn rate for those OZ/QF flights was as if they were QF metal - ie. no difference.

Since you mentioned CX if you book as a OW flight just be aware some fares do not earn any QF miles / SC or Asia Miles.
But they do have some fantastic cheap flights sometimes :) so who is to complain. (eg SIN-HKG-KIX-HKG-SIN for SGD $530 was one i recently took)

If you credit to QF you are always better booking the QF flight (if possible and not more expensive)
