Emirates and Jetstar launch new codeshare agreement

From the Jetstar press release:

Emirates and Jetstar have announced an agreement which is set to open up new destinations for Emirates passengers across Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia as the Dubai-based airline continues to connect people, places and passions.

Emirates’ code will now be placed on a number of routes operated by Jetstar Airways in Australia and New Zealand and Jetstar Asia, giving passengers access to 27 new routes and six new destinations such as Bali in Indonesia, Byron Bay in Australia, Dunedin in New Zealand and Siem Reap in Cambodia.

Interesting times.

Re: Emirates and Jetstar launch new codeshare agreement

Someone connecting from EK F or J to a JQ flight will have a shock coming to them!

Main thread here http://www.australianfrequentflyer....deshare-frequent-flyer-partnership-57897.html

And why do we have the silly @? Or is AFF now twitter clone?
Ahh, thanks for that. I went looking in the EK forum before starting this one.

As to the @, some people think it is useful for twitter. I think it is silly and a waste of time, considering this is not twitter but AFF. I will not be starting and threads with it.

Can a mod please merge this thread with the one already started?

Re: Emirates and Jetstar launch new codeshare agreement

seems pretty sensible. Currently those routes are not serviced by the Emirates / Qantas code share because Qantas don't fly there, so they include Jetstar.

I don't think you will see a change to people flying Dubai - Melbourne - Sydney on EK then JQ.
