I'm sure I read something about it here about 20 hours ago or so, but likewise can't find the thread....

Does seem a bit steep after the first year, but would depend on what other ancillary benefits they offer.

It was probably on Facebook at FFA, that's where I saw it...

Compared to Stripes by Tiger.

Would only be valuable if when logged in you actually had a working website for sales and so forth, otherwise what's the point.

I may have missed it but I can't see anywhere on the forum where Club Jetstar is mentioned apart from the following post from 4 years ago!
http://www.australianfrequentflyer.com.au/community/open-discussion/jetstar-9-club-16982.html

I can't see many benefits apart from seeing cheaper fares. I guess for $9 (after voucher use) it might be worth a go for the first year but for subsequent years they don't offer one so $39.99 then seems a bit steep.
Club Jetstar

just got email "[SUP]^[/SUP]Annual membership of $39.99 is waived for the first year."

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

But you still have to pay a joining fee ;)

Just had a look at the survey thread from 2009 and looks like some of the options would have been really good. Business class (starclass then) upgrades might have been a little too much, but free extra legroom seats for club members could be doable, subject to space. Shame they didn't try harder :(

So can you join, take advantage of the $30 travel voucher, then cancel after 1 year?

haha, right you are re the joining fee,as opposed to annual fee
(that'll teach me to skim-read emails while trying to get the kids fed)

hmm....I seem to have thought the joining fee is the same as the annual fee, which is waived for the first year:oops:

I got the email today but can't see any benefit from joining. It seems that you are paying to receive 4 sales emails a year!! My initial thought was "I bet no one on AFF would join it." Has anyone joined and if so, why???

Contemplating it as it as JQ and Air Asia are the only speedy escapes from DRW sans boat or 4WD - albeit to DPS, with SIN about the same as the East Coast capitals.

I just received the offer tonight, I can't decide if the gamble is worth $10 considering I wouldn't fly JQ much.
I wonder if this will have any benefit for people flying Jetstar Asia.

Vouchers can be used on JQ Asia, but interestingly not POLI or Direct Debit for the remainder.

I might give this one a miss, I reckon. Regular sale fares by email seem pretty good, and there's always Tiger's sales if I'm really desperate for a quick getaway. $40 is a nice meal somewhere...

TBH I joined. Thought $9 isn't too much to see what these 4 sales a year have to offer besides it's all for shiggles.

Re: Club HalfStar

I decided to take the plunge and risk my $9. I joined about two weeks ago and received a very nice surprise on Friday night when not one, but two Jetstar vouchers were emailed to me. Each one has unique voucher numbers so at the moment I am $21 in front on the deal. Gotta be happy with that :)

Yeah me too.. will be good to see just how good these 'club offers' will be..

Can I ask if there's anything different when you log in? I've signed up for about a week now and I'm still getting ads to join up when I sign into my account...

Re: Club HalfStar

There's no difference except that Club Jetstar appears in my toolbox. I'm still seeing the ads too.
