Thanks in advance for the answers.

I want to book a Multi-City flight a year out. 2 of the places I am going to must be booked together as one of them is not available on its own as a Classic Award. I want to fly a mixture of J & F with 2 different carries. My question is if one of the flights or booking class is not available yet when I go to book, can I book a substitute (to secure the ones that are) and then ring up and get Qantas to change that flight or carrier when a Classic Award opens up? Much like you can apparently do with United Awards?

You should be able to do that by calling but note that a change fee is applicable every time you do so.

Thanks serfty. Looks like 3500 points plus $30 per change. Just as long as when I change the person on the phone doesn't loose one of the other flights during the process.

Do they just recalculate taxes and either charge more or issue a refund if less?
