This probably is a dumb question, but I was wondering if I book a trip with my favourite airline via an agent, am I still allowed to claim my travel points with the airline? The Airline in this case is Singapore Air.

cheers,
Jeffery

If the booking is made by you or a TA and the fare is illegible for points, make sure your FF details are in the booking and they will credit.

I'm not familiar with SQ specifically but if the booking is made with an SQ flight number you will receive the points. Not sure if your TA books a code share on SQ metal.

Thanks @snabbu I will double check with the Travel Agent. It sucks that you cannot book a stop over journey online. Like Travel Melbourne > Singapore > Destination 1. Return Destination 2 > Singapore (stop over) > Melbourne. The online bookings I have tried only return from the destination you travelled to.

I suppose this is the reason we still have Travel Agents?

the singapore airlines website allows you to book the itinerary you want, including departing from a different city on the way home. This can be done via the 'multi-city' option.

when you click 'add flight' the default city for the commencement of the next flight is the one you just arrived in... but that can be changed from the drop down menu. So for example I just did a SYD-SIN-LHR, followed by AMS-SIN-SYD (with stopovers each way in SIN). Priced out at $1779.

Thanks Mel_Traveller, I didn't realise they had a multi-city option. I need to open my eyes a bit more
