There is already a thread about this card, so maybe post your inquiry there?

Anyway, the T & C for this card also states:
"Eligible Transaction means any purchase excluding (but not limited to) Cash Advances, Balance Transfers, Special Promotions, BPAY payments, purchases of foreign currency and travellers cheques, transactions made in operating a business, payments to other Citi accounts, bank fees and charges such as interest and ATM charges, transactions made using Points and government related transactions. Government related transactions include transactions with government or semi-government entities, or relating to services provided by or in connection with government (for example but not limited to transactions made at Australia Post, payments to the Australian Taxation Office, council rates, motor registries, tolls, parking stations and meters, fares on public transport, fines and court related costs). Please note that whether or not a transaction is an Eligible Transaction will be determined based on information provided either by the merchant or the relevant financial institution (including information about the type of business conducted by the merchant). This means that, for example, spend with certain merchants may be characterised as spend with a government related entity and therefore not an Eligible Transaction, even if that merchant is not in fact a government related entity."

And welcome to AFF.

One thing to be mindful of here is that there tend to be two different eligibility criteria defined for any one point earning card, and everyone (the bank support people included) tends to get confused between them:
  • Criteria for recognising the base spend necessary for a bonus point offer for a new cardholder
  • Criteria for earning points on any given transaction on an ongoing basis
Some spend will meet the criteria for #1 but not #2. This is a lot more common than people often think - many banks will let you meet the min spend criteria with ATO payments for example, but will not award points on the transaction. Without delving into the documentation, the two criteria above strike me as likely being eligible for different outcomes, which is where context matters. The context of what these count as eligible transactions for is quite important.

This is how I was basing my card usage on: paying to ATO to meet #1 but with no expectation of gaining #2. This question now forces me, too, to go back to the fine print to confirm it.

For those who have had this card for a while and have successful earned QFF points, can you please tell me the format of your name in the Citibank online portal under “Rewards > Modify details”?

I’ve changed my QFF name back to LAST NAME,FIRST NAME,MR

But this doesn’t completely match my QFF account which has it as
First name Middle name Last name

I’m asking as I‘m afraid that the QFF will not be credited because the names on the two accounts don’t match.
I'm not sure if anyone answered your query but my name format is LASTNAME,FIRSTNAME,MR and I can confirm that my points credited to QFF without a problem today in line with the statement issue.

i had the problem where my QF number didn't flow from my application. I entered first name last name manually and it rejected.

Thanks mate! My name was in this format too and I just received my first statement with the bonus points!

Anyone know how long it typically takes from approval to getting the card? Thinking of applying for this - but wondering whether I should leave it to the new year to maximise time to meet minimum spend...

Just under a week for me.

Hi all, I'm an existing Citi credit card user and I'm just wondering if I could apply for this card and receive the bonus. I couldn't find anywhere that says this promotion is for new customer only.

Just under a week for me.

I've applied, let's see how this goes... they've got 5 working days to get this done!

Disappointing to learn that spend on the linked Diners doesn't count towards minimum spend - I think the Diners doesn't charge an international transaction fee which would be useful for an upcoming large bill I have to pay with an American organisation...

Yes, I did this successfully before. Applying for a new card and meeting the requirements will get you the bonus. You can still keep your existing Citi credit card - it was fine for me when I did it.
Churn and burn.

After reading this thread I'm left confused.
The $5,000 minimum spend is not a $5,000 mimium spend on 'eligible transations' which is how some banks word it. So does car rego, rates, insurance and even ATO count towards the $5,000 minimum spend?
Does anyone have experience with this? I won't meet the $5,000 without the above.
I don't trust the advice given by call centres as they often get it wrong and I've been burned before with their incorrect interpreation of the rules.

Don’t worry about how other banks define their minimum spend, check the fine print for this offer. Using the link in the first post, it’s the first point under Important Information.

If a call centre gives you incorrect advice, or the provider doesn’t offer their T&C’s I’d be requesting (and have received previously) compensation.

A week for the card to arrive for me, after 5 days to go from conditional to confirmed approval.

Ummm, if it is that clear and simple, why did post #120 have problems?

Approval went from conditional to confirmed today, which is 1 working day since I applied...

(Now, how many days do they take to get the card printed, and do they pay AusPost for priority so I can get my card before Christmas...)

Who said clear & simple? My ‘clear & simple’ advice was to rely upon the written T&Cs ;-)

BTW, did post #120 have actually have a problem with the min spend, or just had a confusing call with the call center & was worried? I can’t tell.
