It says 'New cards customers only' here. I currently have a Citibank plus everyday account and debit card for it. Am I still eligible?

Not sure to interpret 'new card' as in never previously held a (specifically) Citibank signature card, or any Citibank card?

I'd say you are OK. I've had other Citi cards, both direct and Citi run and received this card a few months back (incidently whilst holding another card run by Citi).

Thanks. So I signed up and received the card pretty quick.

How can I confirm it's the 'Qantas Signature Rewards', instead of their regular 'Signature Rewards' product? The documentation looks generic for both, and Qantas isn't listed anywhere on the card or online account. The generic paperwork mentions the different earn rate for Qantas vs non-Qantas, but doesn't specifically state which one my account is.

Sure I signed up through the right link and ticked the Qantas box. I want to make sure I'm eligible for the promo points upon minimum spend, so there are no surprises down the line.

You can rely on the screen shots from your application.

Generic livery is common with other banks as well.

Calling Citibank will be useless.

Thank you, I figured that's standard too.

I called them anyway to check, keeping expectations of how much they'll tell me low.

Interestingly, the staff member specifically asked me (before I even stated my question), if I'm calling about the Qantas signature card. He confirmed they have my QFF details and 100k points will be credited upon min spend.

Just make sure that you realise that this means nothing. Citibank can never been trusted. Many of us, myself included, have sworn off Citibank because of their incompetence.

I urge you to be vigilant and keep those screen shots.

Chances are you'll probably be OK, but as others can testify from their own experiences, nothing is ever certain with Citibank.

I see, thanks for the advice ! Appreciate it

Yes I have kept the screenshots just in case.

Just keep an eye on this one for new signups...

The OH applied and was approved for this. Card online says “citi Qantas signature card” and the Qantas number has been recorded, however points are going into the citi program.

A painful conversation with citi’s third world staff stated “this is a known problem” however nobody seems to know how to fix said problem.

Obviously, this will cause problems for the signup bonus.

Which signup link was used?
If there is a hiccup, you could press them for more points.

Can’t remember tbh. I think it was just via the citi website.

If they can’t get it fixed easily (and who am I kidding...) then we’ll hit them up for something.

I clicked through the apply button on their website and it takes me to the application form but the top says Citibank Signature Rewards card with no mention of Qantas. Should I still proceed knowing that you and others are encountering issues with points being credited to their rewards program and not Qantas?

Check the URL - sometimes has a specific code that makes it clear what variant of the card/offer you're applying for. And, as always, keep screen shots of everything.

Just applied and got the conditional approval statement once I put through my income and expenses. Submitted payslips and rental statements. At the end of the application I got a screen saying that I may be eligible for a home loan of 1.3 million lol

A bit late now but I also hold a Coles mastercard which is owned by Citibank. Would this affect my sign up bonus in any way?

Wont impact the bonus being awarded assuming your application is successful.

But as Citibank is not transparent in exclusion periods, it may potentially be used in the assessment of whether to award this card or not.

Who knows how you can set this up to work properly... our account says “citi Qantas” or whatever it is when logged in but has been depositing the points to their own program.

Realistically.... it’ll get fixed. Just depends how painful it will be.

Anyone had processing times of late? Applied over the weekend and yet to hear anything. Not sure I’ll be approved as I churned a virgin money card within the past 6 months. Willing to give it a shot though.

I applied very late on Thursday night and got my approval email/SMS come through on Monday night - so wait another day or two before hassling them, if you haven't heard anything.

cheers! Will see what eventuates. I did have an error with my address with the ‘check address’ button only working once. I had to save the application and jump back in. Which was fine and I was able to complete the application and submit payslips.

Applied Sunday eve, they called me on Monday afternoon to verify, approved Monday night, and the card arrived on Thursday.

Where exactly does it say this on your account? Was a bit concerned as I couldn’t see the Qantas word listed on mine last I checked. And how often are your points being (incorrectly) updated, if you don’t mind me asking?
Also sure I’ll sort it out either way, with or without many frustrating phone calls along the way...

I applied last Thu evening, got an email confirmation that the application has been received, and nothing has happened since. In their system, there's an application expiry date three weeks after submission so something will happen by then...
