Citibank Platinum earn 1.5 rewards pts on every dollar for up to 12 mths

Saw this ad in a frame whilst browsing, offering 1.5 points for every $1 for up to 12 months on a Citibank Platinum Visa:

The main catch seems to be:

The 1.5 points per $1 spent earn rate is applicable for 12 months when you take up a balance transfer at time of application and are approved. Without a balance transfer the 1.5 points earn rate will be applicable for 6 months when approved.

This rate is the best I've seen for a while for a Visa with rewards that convert points to FF schemes...

Typical.. just got my new CB Platinum in the post today! Still is it the normal 1 point per $ for any other one or does it auto change. The main reason why i got mine was the 4.9% credit transfer they were offering, admittedly had absolutely nothing to do with points!

If you can get it, this makes Citibank Platinum a "1 Krisflyer point per dollar spent" card for 12 months (1.5 Citibank points per dollar, 1.5 Citibank points per 1 Krisflyer point), which is fantastic. I will be trying to get this deal - I doubt it would be offered on the fee-free Platinum

The big question with this now is what is the points cap? Does it also go up by 1.5 times?
