Hi all
Have obtained a couple of boarding passes recently with VIP annotation under service. No real idea why, but it felt nice
. I thought it might also be handy for being rebooked if the flight got cancelled.
Previously I have had CIP annotated on my boarding pass from time to time, normally this correlated with a fully flexible fare paid for by my employer, who spends $$$$ with Qantas. Someone told me this stood for "Commercially Important Passenger".
Of course the food, the plane, the FAs, were the same as if I was nobody. What this leaves me wondering is what these annotations mean in terms of service or anything else. Is VIP better than CIP? Does it mean anything at all? The only difference I noticed was an increase in the chances of being addressed on boarding as "Mr Pineapple".
Cheers Skip
