Choice have just reviewed travel credit cards (free report). Summary is as follows:

Best Cards:

Virgin Flyer Visa Card - $60K spend = $671 travel reward value

Jetstar Mastercard (particularly Platinum) - $60K spend = $1,051 travel rewards value (platinum)

ANZ Rewards Gold (spend on Amex) - $60K spend = $773 reward value

Westpac Altitude Platinum (spend on Amex) - $60K spend = $782 reward value

Westpac Earth Platinum (spend on Amex) - $60K spend = $964 reward value

Not recommended:

CBA Awards Card with QFF option - $60K spend per = $238 in flight rewards value.

Citibank Platinum Card - $60K spend per year = $330 of flight rewards value

Seem like pretty low values, what is their definition of a 'flight reward'?

What a pointless comparison (if you'll pardon the pun). Obviously you are getting poor value with Citibank Take Flight. A sensible person would manage to get a lot more value out of their points by transferring to Krisflyer or Velocity.

Even worse is the fact that the Jetstar Platinum card is counted as returning one of the best values in vouchers - of course you have to fly Jetstar which isn't taken into account!
