Hi All,
Mrs D-H and I are heading to the UK in June with CZ in Y.

Whilst I would much preferred to travel with VA/EY/VS to take advantage of lounges, SCs, points etc etc, the cost between us was nearly $2,000 less with CZ... Mrs D-H has a black-belt in Mastercard, so every little helps!!

So, does anyone out there have experience of seat selection, lounge access at CAN etc etc. We have about 7 hrs in transit on the return. If it makes any difference at all (which I doubt), we are both Plat with DJ.

The tix were deeply discounted (circa $1600 rtn each), which may restrict seat selection etc, but any other hints, and tips on bulk head or exit seat availability would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
D-H

If you want lounge access at Guangzhou airport then it looks like there are a couple of priority pass options. You can buy a membership or some credit cards include automatic membership for their top tier members (including mastercard)

China southern will provide a free hotel room to transit passengers on Europe-Australia routes in Guangzhou, but I can't remember if it is 6 hours or 8 hours minimum transits. I would call their office in Australia and check if you are entitled to this.

I hope they have improved their customer service... I called the melbourne office last year and was told they don't deal with passengers or commercial tickets... maybe I got through to the wrong department...

I called them and apart from hold time, selected seats for just about every leg of my journey. there were some domestic short flights i couldn't select, but the long legs are covered.

Waited for 90minutes for them to answer the phone and I'm still waiting for the email reply from 4 weeks ago. No ways I fly with them ever again. Rather pay a bit more & go with Singapore Air
