China Eastern Business Class Lounge: Sydney (SYD) and Auckland (AKL)

Just flown China Eastern to China last week, as ST+ was offered either QF lounge (no guest) or Skyteam lounge (1 guest).

At check in they said no guest regardless if you choose QF lounge or Skyteam lounge, however when I got to the Skyteam lounge they allow +1 in as per Skyteam rules.

I much prefer Skyteam lounge.
I suspect with the QF lounge renovations, we'll see more push for skyteam lounge.

Thing with QF lounge is that it is a contract lounge from China Eastern point of view so if the check in person only gives you one voucher to enter the QF lounge then your elite plus means nothing to Qantas it is in a oneworld lounge.

On the other hand if you go to skyteam lounge then they must honor the +1 rule as a skyteam elite plus, regardless of how many lounge invitation you get at check in.
