Nothing wrong with noodle slurping now...

Well....when in Rome....but in other contexts I wouldn't do it as loudly purely out of decorum / not drawing attention to oneself.

It's actually quite difficult to eat noodles without a bit of slurping (not really loud but a bit). It's even harder to tell other cultures (e.g. Japanese) how to eat without loud slurping when they have been used to it all their lives (although it can be done).

The Western equivalent to noodle slurping as being abhorrent is slurping soup.

I thought slurping was to indicate you like the soup in some parts of Japan.

In Japan this is quite common, and yes that is the implication. I believe in Korea and some parts of China, this is similar.

That said, this is the difference between recognising what is acceptable where and what not, and being cognisant of other cultures. In Japan, it is OK in some places to slurp your noodles (although you will certainly not be persecuted if you do not do so!). However, if I were outside of Japan, I might not do it, depending on the local custom or company I am with.

In Japan, it is very offensive to blow your nose in public. That is likely why you hear them sniffling more, which in Western cultures is likely much more offensive. The gesture made by making a circle with the index finger and thumb means "OK" in most Western contexts, it means "money" in Japanese, "zero" (derogatory) in French and it is offensive in Greek.

And you don't see the irony, in not liking others opinions forced upon you?

Apologies I missed the irony.

How dare I force my opinions on you or anyone else.

By the way just because someone thinks it is OK to behave worse than an animal doesn't mean I have to respect that opinion. Nothing to do with facts but common sense.

If its appropriate in Japan, then slurp. But here it's generally seen as impolite. I actually find it really hard to slurp, having had it beaten out of me as a child.
I always seem to get stuck alone in the lunch room with a slurper (and how one manages to slurp rice I am yet to understand). Again, its being respectful of what's appropriate in your current location.
But as far as I'm concerned it is never ok to take a dump on a plane seat.

That I can agree on.

And it's not as if in the story that the FAs actively prevented access to the toilets....far from it...

How is that relevant behaviour in a First class lounge in HKG?

I was serious about people burping and farting at the dinner table. I know people that behave this way. Whilst that is partially acceptable in your own home it is certainly not acceptable in public. And nor should it be acceptable. It is a disgusting habit.

Because it's acceptable in HKG
