We have a 2 week trip planned to Northern Thailand for Christmas this year.

Is there anything that shouldn't be missed? Little secret spots and eateries? Viewpoints that are breathtaking?

We will be riding scooters so have quite a bit of flexibility.
 
Northern Thailand especially in the mountains can be quite chilly at that time of year so need something to keep warm.
IMHO the Princess Mother’s Villa and gardens are a must see. In the mountains a distance from Chiang Mai.
