Checking In 171cm total length suitcase on QF International

Hi Has anyone had probs / success checking in a suitcase that has total dimensions of 171cm on QF International flight? It is 13cm over the stated allowance on QF website. It a American Tourister HSMV 79cm. Thanks

Don't have first hand experience so this is just my guess but I would think it unlikely they would bring out a tape measure for a commercially made suitcase provided you didn't draw attention to it by having it over the 23kg limit. A 5" excess overall wouldn't stand out I wouldn't think
