Hi everyone - this is first post to this forum.
I've got a tricky one and I reckon you guys are the only ones who have the answer.
We (the family 2 adults, 1 5 yo, 1 almost 3 yo) are off to Vancouver for a trip to Whistler. As I had a lot of Virgin points we're going via LAX on points.
After a gruelling day of mucking around with the call centre my partner has finally organised 4 return premium economy tickets and we ended up having to purchase 1 one-way ticket for the almost 3 yo from Sydney to LAX as we didn't quite have enough. This one is on a different itinerary.
We live in Melbourne, but we're going Sydney to LAX then return LAX to Melbourne. There weren't any reward tickets available from Melbourne on the way out. So we'll have to buy a MEL to SYD domestic on the way out. Complicated eh?
OK but my question is about the other end. We need to get a Delta flight with the best possible connection from LAX to Vancouver. Delta has a code-share with Virgin but Virgin (not sure why) are unable to book the ticket - we have to go to a travel agent or to Delta.
The thing is we really want to be able to book our luggage through to Vancouver with the 2 kids and a ****e-load of gear. Is there any way we can do this or because we have already booked the flights through Virgin is this imposssible?
