Hi all, hoping for some guidance here.
I’m about to make separate QFF bookings on Emirates to London through Dubai. One flight will be economy and the next in business with only 2 hours between flights
My question is will my baggage be checked through to the second flight?
The Qantas website seems to say no if it’s EK/EK but I was hoping to double check.
Qantas states:

“What if I am travelling on separate tickets?
oneworld flights on separate tickets/bookings are not eligible for through check–in, except if you have a Qantas Frequent Flyer reward or Qantas commercial booking, advise airport staff at check-in of the booking references.
QF/QF and QF/EK flights on separate tickets/booking - through check-in is eligible and boarding passes will be issued”

Thanks for any advice

If both flights abc-DXB and DXB-LHR are EK operated it is EK bag policy that applies. Does not matter how the tickets are paid for. QF awards generally will have EK flight numbers.

If the first flight is late and you no show the 2nd DXB-LHR flight that is your problem. EK-QF have no obligation to help.

Why separate bookings? Can you get the combination on multi city, so bags are checked all the way through?
