I'm hoping that someone can help me, I'm just looking for the cheapest way to get to Europe (one-way) from Boston. I feel like I may have shot myself in the foot because I also need to find the best option to get from Europe to Maldives for my connecting flight home to Melbourne but at least Qatar has ok flights to that region. I'm struggling with Boston to Europe (Austria, Greece, UK, or France are fine) just due to the number of options available.

Don't forget that Boston is only a short (4 hour) train ride to New York if required to increase your travel options.

Yes that's definitely an option that OP should consider should he/she decide to fly from NY. Something to consider as well is the bus. The bus is cheaper than the train but takes longer. I took the bus from Boston South Station to the Port Authority Bus Terminal in NY. If I remember correctly, I took the Greyhound and at that it was about $20-$30 for travel and one bag. You do take the freeways or whatever the term is over there but it's cool to be able to see a more scenic route and it's easier to get used to where things are if you've never been.

kt_kez, what are your dates? Is price the only determining factor for you? For example, do you want to credit FF points to a particular FF program? Thanks.

Thanks for your replies.

I think I'm suffering from "too many options" and also "too much time" I'm now wondering if I should do a mileage run in the US before heading over to Europe to complete the AA challenge and to reach *G (if air Canada would credit my points to A3 faster, I would be much happier!)

At the moment I can find flights with BA bos-lhr for 877 return which isn't too bad, although I'm wondering if I can re-route to increase my mileage. Getting to NYC from BOS is certainly a good option too.

Another Orion is Icelandic who have fares from a few different US cities to Europe.

That was going to be my suggestion. Friends of mine sought the dirt cheapest fare from JFK to Manchester, and came up with Icelandair, stopping off for a night in Reykjavik along the way (it'll probably be the northernmost airport you'll ever fly to).

Icelandair do fly BOS-KEF and KEF-CDG at least.

I managed to get to Boston from Toronto for 8000 QF points and a one-way from Boston to Salzburg for 525 usd. That's not too bad. Hopefully I should be *G soon!!

I was going to suggest Icelandair as well. However, the website kept logging me off on my iPad. Well, it's good to hear you managed to get those flights. I was also going to say perhaps you should disregard NY because Boston Logan is so close to Boston city centre etc. whereas Manhattan to JFK is a bit of a trek in comparison. Best of luck!
