I'm finding it hard keeping my United Airlines account alive, and would like to know what the cheapest flight using *A, departing PRG is? It would have to be a same day return, or one way mixed with a coach or train (I don't mind at all).

It also needs to be between the 21st of November 2008 and 21 of January 2009. Any advice is appreciated. :D

If you have a significant amount of miles, you could simply donate 1000 of them to charity - costs nothing other than the 1K in miles.

Just for fun.... punched in PRG-MUC return on the 27 November to ITA..

Fare of USD $90 came up on LH!!! :mrgreen:

Prop planes both ways... Augsburg Airways Dash-8 out and Air Dolomiti ATR-42 back....

:shock::shock:

I donate cash to charity, and I really would like to try a *A airline as Austrian is the only one I've been on before. I always fly OneWorld or SkyTeam.

Lovely, AU$153.50 return. Anything good to do in MUC for a couple of hours?

The $37 special is applicable to a number of days.

And any other documentation needed or any complications when traveling on an AUS passport between PRG-MUC? I'm assuming not, but I don't want to get caught up somewhere especially if I'm flying for practically no reason. :D

I'm actually considering doing 2 return trips, one return on the dash 8s and another with an Alenia on the return.

Just quickly before I book - how do you find the booking class?

At MUC on an Australian passport you will have no issues at all, just turn up with your passport, you will probably be asked why your visiting, so just for fun tell them the truth, you just needed to take a side trip to maintain your airline status and thought you would check our Munich.

PRG i am not so sure what the deal is.

If you have the day to spare, why not check out Munich, its a pretty interesting city for a day and trains from airport i are 8.80 Euro though :( expensive for Germany...) but i am sure there must be like a tourist pass where you spend 3 or 4 euro for all day on any transport. (In Stuttgart its 9.50 for 3 days any tranport in the city ! so i am sure there must be something similar)
Anybody help on this ?

Apparently there is even there own brewrey in T2 (The *A terminal).

Thanks for that. :D I'm familiar with the situation at Prague so I won't have issues there. With the flights I'm booking, I get in at 1405 and leave at 1925 so hopefully I can quickly make it into the city (how far is it)?

CZK 239Tax:Czech Embarkation TaxCZK 525Tax:LH YQ surcharge€20.00Tax:German Passenger Service Charge€14.47Total for 1 adult passenger:SGD 148

Looks like E class. If thats the fare... well thats an example anyway.
I would match your fare to one you find on the ITA software tool

Takes about 45 minutes each way, so you would probably not have much time. Not sure what else is close to the airport. Lots of shopping etc at the airport... Hugo Boss may be a bit cheaper than at home... atleast it is near STR where its made. :cool:

Unfortunately class E is not valid for flights within Europe? :confused:

Yes might make a stop at Hugo Boss if I get there. :D

My last post: I meant to say there is no mileage earning in class E for flights in Europe according to UA.

OK then.... the next step would seem to be inputting the booking classes that DO earn as "modifiers" into the PRG-MUC request on ITA..

Unfortunately I am still struggling with that side of it...

Hopefully someone more expert/experienced could do so??? :confused:

Ok.. you have inspired me to learn this stuff!

First you'll need to identify the fare codes that DO earn...

Then you can input "code modifiers" in a search on ITA like this...

PRG:: LH / f bc=x
MUC:: LH / f bc=y

Where x & y are suitable fare codes... and LH obviously restricts it to that airline... Do it like this:

PRG::/ f bc=x and it searches for that fare code on all airlines...

If you have multiple options then you can do them at the same time like this..

PRG:: LH / f bc=x|bc=y|bc=z

etc etc..... You MUST put the "code modifiers" in both to and from boxes or it will revert to a cheapest fare search for that leg..

If you have trouble with it let us know the suitable fare codes and I'll have a crack at it... I'm sitting at home with a really nasty bug and concentrating on something (anything!) helps a lot!!!! :mad:

Thanks very much for the lesson indeed, trooper! :D

I found an Aer Lingus fare for $171 return in January.
