An incentive of the WA Govt appears to be making regional airfares on the state slightly cheaper by splashing around some subsidies:

I wonder if there will be any noticeable change? Something like $10-20 off a rtn PER-BME trip would just get lost in normal price fluctuations I would think, so it'll be interesting to see how this 'incentive' money is spent. Selling me a $100 special to get from PER-BME or anywhere in NW WA (including CI or CKI - hint, hint) will incentivise me to travel over, especially if it's mid-year as the article suggests the timeframe for release of the funding. Would make a pleasant winter break.

I also wonder if it will be open to all (inclusive of WA residents) or more focused/limited to those outside the state?

The cynic in me says Govt probably sees this as job done! Political announcement that they're 'doing something' is out in the media and whether that cash actually does anything is almost secondary. As I said above, I don't see how a marginally cheaper airfare really does anything.
