For the last couple of weeks I've been meaning to book a PER-MEL one way flight for 23/12/14 to get me home in time for Xmas. Being the lazy sod I am I've allowed the price to creep up to todays $545 for the redeye flight that is the one i need to catch. That's outrageous, even for Xmas, though it will probably get worse.

Using a few tricks I learned here and elsewhere I managed to book a flexi PER-CNS via MEL for just under $350 which included the discount applied with the current Promo code. How is it that I can get to MEL cheaper when its a CNS ticket?

I've been looking at booking a rewards flight to AUH in business, PER-AUH or SYD-AUH 107000points or PER-BNE-AUH ~70000 points, takes approx. 30 hours but quite a saving!

A good idea to talk about your plan to use hidden city ticketing online..... not. Why not give us your pnr too? Oh you dont need too... youve given the flight date and time.

Smart stuff

Indeed, there is a chance VA would take notice and work out the PAX.

However, as for hidden city ticketing. it's quite normal for such fare differences to occur with common segments in routings.

In this case the fares are such:

What a charming person you are...

Last time I checked this was a forum discussing, amongst other things, the various means of finding cheap plane tickets, some times by bending the rules. With that in mind I revealed the method I used to do exactly that, hoping it would help others. Why do you have a problem with that?

I think it was more the case of basically stating that you have given sufficient information for VA to work out who you are and that there appears to be a desire to circumvent the fare. Not eloquently expressed however.
