Please feel free to delete this post if it is inappropriate, but I thought it might be useful to a number of Sydney based frequent flyers or others flying into Sydney.

I normally take the train to the airport (from Chatswood) when I fly... but a few weeks ago I had to take a taxi because I didn't realize the flight I booked clashed with my French class at the University of Sydney... Fiji flight scheduled to arrive 6:05pm and class started at 6:30pm in Camperdown. Go figure! Flight was delayed 10 minutes, I was the first through customs, ran out of cash in the first taxi, the second one gave me a scenic tour of the campus before getting me to the correct building on Mallet St... anyway it cost me $40 bux!

I didn't want to ask my boss for a favor because I knew it would cost much more in a limo... and I would much rather save my free ride when I actually need it... (like you know I have my full luggage, laptop bag, and carryon... at an ungodly hour in the morning) but anyway...

this week I was asked to create a new web page for an Internet-only special... cheaper than a taxi rate from Sydney Domestic to CBD for $44 bux in a Prius! cough... I wish I knew he was thinking this I would have been one of the first clients to take advantage of this offer.

So for anyone that may be interested please PM me... or go direct: Green Limo Service: Sydney, NSW Australia

Like I said I don't want to advertise the business especially since I'm getting nothing out of it, but if there are Sydney based folks on here that don't want to get ripped off by a taxi give it a try.

I don't know, you can try mentioning my name and get a better discount for trips beyond the CBD. I'm only working for this company for another month or so, but for the locals or visitors to Sydney it may be useful.

thanks,

It is less that $44 for a cab from the Airport to the CBD though...

And its not really $44 From the Aiport

Meet and greet fees ($11 Domestic, $22 Intl)
Airport fees (same as cab - $3)

Not a greattime to be adding yet another black car to Sydneys ranks.

The black cars are already clogging up the exit to the taxi rank at Syd T3

With the stars, they will make it over $60 easily ..

For me if I have an early flight to catch, for example 5am Intl check in
with say 4 people I would prefer to pick up a rental car the previous night,
and just return it to the airport, with discount codes it will cost around $45, if you really drive low kms you can even not refuel the car !

Conditions:
* GST is included in the fare, tolls and airport charges are extra
* International Airport add $5 extra
* After-hours Travel between 11:00pm and 5:00am add $22 extra
* Baby Seats add $11 extra
* Payment with Credit Cards incur 3% fee
* Extra stops cost more based on the location
* Meet and Greet Service add $11 for Domestic
* Meet and Greet Service add $22 for International

with the way the economy is going I'm pretty sure you will see a lot less black cars at the airport... quite a few limo businesses will go under.

the cars you see clogging up the taxi lines are touters... and that practice is illegal.

The prius is hardly the best "green" option either. not much substance, more a great marketing effort to know nothing, ignorant celebrities.

full of dirty great batteries, that are produced with rare and exotic materials and leaving behind much toxic waste. Great for the environment.

Interestingly enough, when I arrived into SYD last Friday night after picking up my bag I was approached by a man (Indian, not that it matters) who quietly said "taxi? taxi mate?". First time I'd experienced that in an Australian airport. Maybe the "HC"'s are starting to take it a little harder.

Happens all the time in SYD and MEL for me.... and just about every airport in the world.
My HC driver is still doing great business, but he is very good and so he has committed clients.

never underestimate the power of hippy perception.

a customer refused service yesterday after he was sent a free upgrade (BMW 7-series) due to Prius overbookings.
