Not sure if this is an enhancement or a system bug, but I cannot seem to find any cheap JASA's departing ex SIN - SYD anymore over the next 12 months despite having cheap U class inventory available!

It's been like that for a couple of weeks now.
Still plenty of availability inbound to SIN though, so I'm thinking it's a bug.

Possible to look into this issue RedRoo?
Just wanted clarificatino if its a bug or a general repricing of JASA ex SIN?

I strongly suspect that it is not a "bug" at all; international U availability seems to have nosedived this year, to the point where on some routes it is all but nonexistent.

I snagged a JASA Sin to Melbourne for 2 in August for a great price/points but it was back in late August last year and before the Emirates announcement. Although it was originally direct to Adelaide but that got scrapped in the recent deletion of Adelaide from the International sectors.

When I checked on prices/points required at that time they were horrendous.

Its not U class per se. Plenty of them around. Its more a JASA booked into U class ex SIN that are non existent now (or from what some person said a few weeks ago). Just seems really strange.

Hi Red Roo,

I refer to the following thread (not sure if you had picked up on it):
http://www.australianfrequentflyer....yer-program/cheap-jasa-ex-sin-gone-51108.html

As you may know, the Business Anyseat Award, otherewise known as JASA on this forum is a popular tool used by QFF members to get better value for their award bookings.

So I wish to dummy book a JASA SIN - SYD for 30 May 2014.
I see that there is U class availabile on that date on QF6. But when I attempt to book this route as a JASA, the pricing comes in at around ~273k+ points (when this should normally come in at maybe around ~90K+ points). In our experience, this is expensive for a JASA where U class availability is normally present.

This expensive pricing (~200K+ points) seems to be reflected for ALL routes to Australia ex-SIN for all dates as far as I can see. But, we know that just a few months ago, one could snag a JASA ex SIN foor the lower points total.

In light of this, we were wondering:
1/ Is this a deliberate increase in pricing? or
2/ Is this a system bug?

If its the former, then we accept it and will look for alternatives. If the latter, I hope it will be cleared up by the relevant department soon.

PS: Interestingly, booking a JASA SYD-SIN return with U classic availabilty results in a the cheap pricing showing up on both the outbound and inbound legs.

Thanks ermen, I did get your private message and am currently investigating with the relevant teams. I'll reply asap. :)

Hi ermen

Thanks for your message, and please accept my apologies for the unusual delay in response.

As with any fare types, seats are subject to availability. This is the same whether you're booking online or via our contact centres.

However if I understand correctly, seats are showing available in U class, however not allowing you to book it as a JASA.

This would be something to discuss with our Reservations team as they are the subject matter experts and will be able to review your options.

Cheers.

Red Roo

Hi Red Roo,

Yes you are right to a certain extent. But it's getting a little strange

1/ As per the new changes to book an ASA in U class, I called up your reservations team and was transferred to the Platinum desk.
2/ So we find seats ex-SIN to SYD (30 Jan 14) in U class. All is fine till we try to get a price
3/ Phone agent says she is unable to give me a price on this flight now as the system is not calculating it?!
4/ We tried other departure ports in Asia (eg HKG, BKK) and the system was able to give a price. Problem is unique to ex-SIN flights.
5/ Looks like this is an issue (probably IT?!) that no Any Seat Award bookings can be made ex-SIN? Alternatively, is it just that NO ASA's are available ex-SIN? We just need confirmation.

Received an update from QF's end that these fares ex SIN have not been loaded into the system and I was thanked for bringing this to their attention. They said they will fix this and get back to me in a few days.

Hopefully will be able to snag a JASA from the 1300 line then.
