Hi fellow travellers,

This tip may have been shared in a previous post. It’s not my tip but one I found on the net and tried it to confirm it works;

If you forget your phone or tablet charger, or find yourself in a foreign country without an adapter, providing you have a USB cable, don’t despair.

Most TV’s nowadays have a USB port on the side or rear so plug it in and start charging. Problem solved!

Happy travels.

Good find. :)

...also, many newer hotel rooms now have USB slots in the power points and/or bedside lamps.

Or on the clock radios.

The TV port is usually very slow to charge and you need to leave the TV on all night

there are plenty of rogue USB cables now so always BYO and don't use random ones at airports & other public places
just a simple google search "usb hacking cables" will show you

Or just go to front desk or concierge or exec lounge or wherever and ask for a charger - all hotels have tubs full of them - most left behind item in hotels these days.

Spot on!

A few years ago I was made to switch rooms during an extended stay. I left a charger in the original room. Went to reception asking if house keeping had my charger and they produced a massive box of chargers and cables and said take your pick!
