As a bronze member selected Y+ seats for the family on an existing classic award flight in manage booking, paid the seat fee via CC and confirmed in banking app. QF provided a seat selection receipt via email, acknowledging payment, but has also deducted 5000 points per passenger (not acknowledged in receipt), despite no other changes being made to the flight? Anybody else experienced this?

**Uodate - after 90 minutes and 3 different people in the call centre, the system had somehow interpreted a QF schedule change (that was previously accepted) as customer initiated when I booked the seats. I was initially accused of making the change however thankfully I had the schedule change email. Bit rude of QF to charge me for their schedule change!
_mods, please move to another thread if more appropriate.

The 5000 pts deducted pp obviously doesn’t sound right and possibly because the Y+ seat selection might trigger a ticket re-issue (I received a new ticket after changing to a Y+ seat on a domestic paid flight - but $0 fee as WP).

I’d be calling QF to get the points back.

I don’t recall reading about your issue here before, but you’re probably not the first.
