Hi All

Have got a SYD-BKK-HEL-CDG-VDD-HEL-BKK-SYD trip booked in August through BA/Finnair.

I can select seats on the BKK-SYD leg at the end of the trip through BA.com but cannot change seats on the initial SYD-BKK leg.

Any ideas as to why this might be? I would have thought I would have been able to select seats on the earlier flight not the latest one.

I don't think status is the issue as he is able to select seats for the later flight.

Is the seat map somehow closed for this flight? Have you tried calling BA to see if they can allocate a seat on the first flight for you? Also if you are a QFF member and this booking appears on the QF website then you may be able to select a seat there.

Sort of along these lines, could it be that SYD-BKK is a BA code on QF yet BKK-SYD is BA code operated by BA - would that affect to ability to do online seat selection through ba.com? I don't know the answer in this case but tometimes codeshares can be a bit finicky when it comes to seat allocations.

I'm OW Emerald, so i figured i should be able to select seats.

I'll give BA a call this week and see what they say. All I'm trying to do is move up 2 rows from 31 to 29.
