My daughter is over from UK and going to Mel. 25/7, starting point tsv-bne(change flts)-mel. Bookings combined although two different flts.

Is it possible to cancel the bne one to go on the 24/7 tsv-bne and then keep the bne-mel flt. the same on 25/7?

The fares have been combined.
Thanks for your help.

Virgin Blue??

If its one of those Virgin blue flights that have a stopover booked under one fare selection, then no its not possible.

Depends on what type of fare you have purchased? Blue Saver?

If its booked as a single ticket then if she is a no-show for then first flight she can expect that all subsequent flights will be cancelled.

If she wants to change the ticket by removing the first sector then it depends on the rules specific to the fare type that she has purchased. Typically the cheaper the fare paid the more restrictions there are to making changes and the bigger the fees for making any changes.

Give QF a call and make sure they cancel the TSV - BNE flight, otherwise when she is a no show in TSV they'll also cancel the BNE - MEL leg automatically. If you get them to cancel the TSV - BNE leg on the 25/7 then she'll have no problems

Back in Janurary I did a similar thing where I had a CBR - MEL - CBR trip, which I changed around so I was actually on a flight from PER - MEL at the time I was meant to be boarding the CBR - MEL flight. Because I had cancelled with QF the flight down to MEL, but not the one back up to CBR it meant that my return flight home was not automatically cancelled because I wasn't on the first flight of the original booking.

I should also add that I was on a Red-e-deal for this trip, which meant I forfitted the cost of the CBR - MEL flight, but certainly had no problems changing the flights around.

If each of the sectors was booked separately then you should be able to go into the booking on Qantas and select to change flights. Each of the sectors will appear with an option to change dates and select new flights. You can change the first sector to 24/7 and leave the second sector at 25/7.

The amount to pay will be the difference in airfare between the new flights and old flights less $38.50 change fee. Note that the changed flights have to be of equal or higher value than the original flights.
