I couldn't find the answer to this and SQ website seems ambigious however can i book a return trip and then after taking the first flight still move the date of the return leg? Or can i only do that before i start the journey? This is a SQ redemption on SQ.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

To provide maximum flexibility for future changes, unless I want the free stopover, I always book my "return" SQ Awards as two one way tickets.

This allows for changes of plans (when you book almost a year out all sorts of things can change or are not known at time of booking), plus one can upgrade more easily and cheaply if availability opens up.

Another crucial befeit is that it allows you to snaffle popular redemptions as soon as they open. If you wait for the return leg to open, then the first departure flight may be booked by that time.

A big benefit too is that if you later decide that you want to fly over/ back from different cities that it is simpler to change.

I also often book in and out of different cities. ie next trip arrive in Paris, but return from Rome. So one way redemptions are easier.

I also will sometimes book the two "one-ways" on different airlines and/or FF programs. For example one trip I flew over via a *A Award on SQ for availalibility reasons, but came back on SQ my preferred airline. (When I was redeeming for 4/5 in J availability was a BIG factor. Much easier these days when it is normally just the two of us).

Simple answer YES - date changes / flt changes are possible - you can try to change online but given new SQ web site still a bit 'iffy' you may not be able to - as always KF call ctr your best bet. If your desired flts are available it should not be a drama. But I should add it is certainly not encouraged.

Ret port changes are not permitted.

Except when you want to book ex Mnl to avoid yq

If that is your desire yes.

I my case the yq saved would not make up for return airfare to Manila plus other costs plus the extra time for two extra flights complete with buffer to allow for late/cancelled flights etc as they are not part of the one booking.

If I had known that you were only concerned about Manila flights I would have made a different earlier response. So if you have specific criteria it does help to supply more appropriate answers if you let us know.

On a similar note (sorry to hijack!), but what about if you're on a stopover? Say, a week long and wanted to change the date of your next flight. Anyone been in that position?
