Just got this in an email on my statement, apologies if it's been posted elsewhere:

Velocity Program Changes as of 15 August 2011

Virgin America and Malaysia Airlines

Please be advised that the Points bonus available for Silver and Gold Velocity members when flying with Virgin America and Malaysia Airlines will be removed. Silver members will continue to earn 20% bonus Points and Gold members 40% bonus Points for flights flown up until this date.

Blue Holidays and Brunel Limousines

Blue Holidays and Brunel Limousines Please be advised that the Blue Holidays and Brunel Limousines earn rate will change from 5 Points per dollar spent to 3 Points per dollar spent for members and 4.5 Points per dollar spent for Silver members.

Interesting stuff, but more importantly (for me anyway) I assume this means the 2 MH flights I am taking in the next few weeks will still be accruable, they are "just" getting rid of the gold/silver bonus points after the 15/08? I presume this is step one of removing MH from their roster.

Also, way to go to make Blue Holidays even more unpalatable. If they give back SC's I'll call it a draw. ;)

Its probably worth noting that Blue Holidays is not a DJ run company.

I saw the blue holidays thing on my statement and noted that there was no earn rate mentioned for gold. I assume it is silver and above get 4.5 points.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Does this look like it may be the date for the re-launch?

Pretty obvious that Malaysian airlines points are over because, virgin have dumped Malaysia for Singapore airlines, and Malaysian are joining Oneworld, Where the asian kangaroo lives.

I doubt August, they said late in the year, but we never know!

Presumably Delta and Singapore Airlines flexing their muscle?
