Hi all,

Have just come off the phone from Skywards who have just informed me that due to changes which only came into effect this week, I am no longer able to upgrade DXB-WAW economy to business on a (saver fare) until 24 hrs before departure. It was however possible for me to do this last week (I had checked upgrade availability on this leg and it was possible online last week).

Is the information I was given correct; has this change indeed only just happened? I wasn't aware of this change being on the cards. If I had, I most certainly would have booked in the upgrade prior last week. Does anyone think I may have any chance at getting the upgrade, as possible last week, with a well-worded complaint letter?

Points devaluations, grrr...

Yes, the rules have been changed as you indicate.

Complaining will get you absolutely nowhere.

Thanks Clifford.
i would have thought Platinum status, combined with Emirates not duly advising me of these changes would have been worth a complaint and see what happens?

How were Skyward members advised of these changes? I haven't seen any notification...

Not sure. I read about them on Flyertalk.

I have noticed last night that when booking, some flight options now indicate that upgrade for flights only possible in last 24 hours prior to check in. Have not seen that before last week, when looking at flight around the same time, so they seem to have only just updated the booking system as well now.
